Just as our housing needs vary throughout our lives… the concept plan for Bridgemore is designed to address those life stages within the different phases of our neighborhood so that one may “right size” their homes without leaving their neighborhood, or compromising their own distinctive style. Families and lifestyles come in many shapes and sizes and so do their homes. Our job is to offer homesite choices to comfortably accommodate those variations in needs for your dream home.

Changing times create a new challenge in the home market.  Homebuyers still wanted opulent homes but they wanted it in a smaller package and priced significantly less than a million dollars.  To most, a seemingly impossible equation but to Brookwood Construction & Engineer’s David Haines, it was an inspiring challenge.  He started by determining the perfect size living space to allow four bedrooms.  The living areas needed to be open and able to accommodate lots of activity.

Many of Brookwood’s designs incorporate “Age in Place” features such as pre-framed elevator shafts and multiple bedrooms on the main level.  “Once you have your dream home there really isn’t any reason to have to move if it was properly designed in the beginning”, says Dave.  Additionally homes are pre-wired for electronic expansions as technology changes.

Brookwood has an open book policy with its customers.  Each project has an exacting set of specifications and no costs are hidden.  When you sign the contract the prices are locked.  As long as you don’t make changes during construction the price is guaranteed except for changes in actual material costs.

David Haines, owner of BrookWood Construction & Engineers, has been in the home building industry for more than 35 years. Along with erecting the clubhouse in Bridgemore, Haines is also responsible for building a few of the multi-million dollar residences on the hilltop. But he knew there was a market for home buyers who wanted exceptional, original homes without the million-plus price tag.  “We wanted to build a series of homes in this neighborhood between $835,000 and $995,000   without compromising on quality and still following the protective covenants and guidelines,” says Haines. “But generally what you see in that price range is the familiar repetitious stock plan home. So we started from scratch.”  With the help of architect Jack Herr, Haines developed plans for eight homes on the cul-de-sac Hammock Lane, each between 4,000 and 4,800 square feet of finished living space, and each one distinctive from the others. “From French Country, to Tuscan, to Traditional, when you look down this street, every house will be unique,” says Haines.  The homes do have a few things in common — Haines is known for his open floor plans.  The first floors of every house have at least 10ft. ceilings. But while there’s an airy feel, there’s still a delineation of space.  Haines’ other signature trademark is offering plenty of outdoor living space to his home buyers. Besides large verandas being standard, there are plenty of oversized windows in every room, plus more than one set of doors which lead to the alfresco areas.
